For outdoor field events, athletes should bring the cleats or turf shoes they normally wear for their sport.
For indoor events, athletes should wear their sport specific shoes, such as volleyball or basketball shoes.
Athletes should also wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring water.
Sunscreen is recommended for outdoor events.
-
Sports Intel uses professional performance technology, including VALD SpeedGates and VALD ForceDecks dual force plates.
This equipment provides accurate, objective measurements of an athlete’s speed, agility, power, explosiveness, and force production.
-
Athletes must be at least 10 years old to participate.
Testing at a younger age allows athletes to establish an early performance baseline and measure their development as they grow, train, and progress in their sport.
Future testing can show how their speed, agility, strength, power, and explosiveness improve over time.
-
Most athletes complete the full testing experience in approximately one hour, including check in and the dynamic warm up.
Timing may vary depending on the event size.
-
Each athlete will receive a personalized Athlete Intelligence Report, or AIR™ Report, by email within 24 to 48 hours following the combine.
-
Recruiting Differentiator
Share your verified performance data with college coaches to supplement your film and provide objective measurements of your athletic ability. Your AIR™ Report helps coaches see another side of you as an athlete and provides a baseline they can use to understand your current physical profile and development potential.
Development Tool
Review your results with a coach or strength and conditioning professional to identify priorities, guide training, and establish a baseline for future progress. Continue training and test again to measure how your speed, agility, strength, power, and explosiveness improve over time.
-
A Sports Intel Combine helps athletes understand where they currently stand, identify areas where they can become stronger and faster, and track their development over time. Verified performance data can also help athletes set themselves apart from other recruits by giving college coaches a more complete picture of their athletic ability.
Many college athletic programs use similar performance testing when athletes arrive on campus. Testing earlier gives athletes a head start, prepares them for the physical expectations of the next level, and allows them to begin improving before they arrive. Providing coaches with an established baseline can also be valuable because it shows an athlete’s current abilities, commitment to development, and potential for continued growth.
-
Sports Intel works alongside strength and conditioning coaches as a performance testing partner. We administer the combine and provide the coach with each athlete’s AIR™ Report, results, and performance data. The strength and conditioning coach can then use that information to guide programming and help each athlete reach the next level.
Sports Intel handles the testing while the strength and conditioning coach leads the athlete’s ongoing training and development. When athletes test again every six months, the results provide an objective way to measure progress, demonstrate the impact of the training program, and show athletes how their work is translating into improvements in speed, agility, power, and explosiveness.
-
Sports Intel supports complete athlete development. Whether an athlete is in middle school and working toward the next level or actively navigating the recruiting process, performance testing helps them develop beyond their sport specific skills and better understand their overall athletic ability.
Coaches receive objective benchmarks for individual athletes and the team as a whole, helping them identify strengths, development priorities, and progress over time. Offering Sports Intel testing also helps clubs differentiate their programs by showing families that they are invested in developing stronger, faster, and more prepared athletes.
