WHAT WE TEST

40-Yard Dash with Flying 10 and 20 Splits
Measures acceleration, top-end speed, and the athlete’s ability to maintain speed throughout the sprint.

Max Velocity (MPH)
Captures the athlete’s highest recorded speed in miles per hour during the 40-yard dash, with no separate test required.

Pro Agility Shuttle (5-10-5)
Evaluates change-of-direction speed, braking ability, body control, and reacceleration.

Broad Jump
Measures horizontal lower-body power and explosiveness.

Countermovement Jump Using VALD ForceDecks
Provides detailed insights into jump height, force production, power, and left-to-right asymmetries.

TESTING EQUIPMENT

Testing is completed using VALD Performance equipment, including SmartSpeed timing gates and ForceDecks. VALD technology is trusted by teams in the NFL, MLB, and NBA, as well as leading NCAA programs across major conferences.

SmartSpeed’s precision electronic timing provides accurate, repeatable sprint and agility results, while ForceDecks capture detailed force production, power, and left-to-right asymmetries that jump height alone cannot reveal. Together, these technologies help Sports Intel deliver verified performance data that athletes and coaches can use with confidence.

WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE

Every athlete will receive a personalized AIR™ Report following the combine.

The report includes:

  • Verified testing results.

  • Age-based performance benchmarks for athletes ages 13 and older.

  • Identified strengths.

  • Development opportunities.

  • Clear, coach-ready insights.

  • A baseline to track progress over time.

Athletes under 13 receive their testing results without percentile rankings.

The AIR™ Report turns testing data into information athletes, parents, and coaches can understand and use to support development and recruiting.

PARENT INFORMATION SESSION

We’ll host a virtual information session before the event to explain the combine, walk through what athletes can expect, and answer parent questions. Details will be shared ahead of the tournament to all teams participating in Lax in the Zoo.
